Session Description: Are you tired of wondering if your students really know the concepts taught in your class? Are you wondering what the process of shifting to standards-based grading looks like for teachers at the secondary level? In this session participants will learn about the step-by-step process Lander Valley High School followed to shift its focus of grades from a weighted average of scores earned on various assignments to a measure of mastery on identified course priority standards. Participants will see how the work first unfolded for teachers at a district level, then the building level, culminating in the classroom, all within the structure of a PLC. Participants will leave this session with tools/resources developed by LVHS during its transition to standards-based grading.

Session Outcomes: Upon completion of this session, attendees will
1. Understand the process LVHS followed to facilitate the work done by teachers for implementing a standards-based grading system AND the timeline followed in order to get the work done
2. Comprehend the process used to organize the work done by teachers
3. Learn the process our collaborative teams went through to prioritize standards, formulate proficiency scales, and design common formative assessments
4. Learn the data review process our collaborative teams engage in once common formative assessments are complete in order to identify students for tier 1, 2, and 3 intervention and enrichment
