Universal Design for Transition Planning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Session Description: Today’s employers are looking for self-motivated, focused, and responsible workers.  The characteristics of a Millenial workforce are very different than the baby boomer workforce that is retiring at a rapid pace.  If our students are going to contribute to a positive work environment, we must build those skills in them now.  Developing “soft” or “21st century” skills is as important as delivering academic content.
Session Outcomes: Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Participants will be able to explain the role transition planning plays in an educational setting.
2.  Participants will be able to identify vocational strategies that allow all students to develop a growth mindset in preparation for the workforce.
3.  Participants will be able to identify instructional strategies in the classroom and on the job that allow all students to develop a growth mindset.
