Mathematical Mindset: Thinking Your Way to Understanding Math

Session Description: Do your students say they are not good at math and really don’t want to try? Come see a way to engage students in mathematics that will encourage thinking and exploring to learn mathematical concepts. Teachers from Kindergarten to 8th grade will walk away with usable lesson ideas.

Session Outcomes: Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. encourage students to think mathematically without feeling as though they can OR cannot do math.
2. take away lesson ideas on how to get students thinking mathematically.
3. change math pedagogy to improve student understanding and scores.
