The Kuleana Framework - Transforming Culture through a Place-Based Approach

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Session Description: In the Hawaiian language, Kuleana is translated as “responsibility”.  However, it carries a deeper meaning, implying an individual taking shared ownership of collective vision and mission of the group.  Attendees will examine and experience an indigenous based approach towards cultural change utilizing personal and organizational values and collaborative engagement.  While the framework utilizes traditional Hawaiian values, they are universal in application at any level, and participants will learn to apply the process to their own context.

Session Outcomes: Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify their personal and organizational values
2. Prioritize desired outcomes
3. Begin collaborative discussions towards design of change efforts
