Breakout of the Norm with Breakout Edu

Session Description: Attendees will explore how to incorporate technology and curriculum in a fun learning environment.  In this hands-on session you will get to experience a "breakout" (also known as an escape room) using technology and curriculum and find out how you can incorporate it within lessons, team building exercises for staff, or for extracurricular activities.    

Session Outcomes: Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify how breakout activities incorporate critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.
2. Come up with one or more ways to use a breakout with staff or students.
3. Have resources to create their own breakout with staff or students.   


Megan Dingman

Richard Landreth

Richard works in an elementary library and in an alternative high school library.  He has been in the library for many years, and even longer in education.  He has a masters degree in Library and Information Science.  He also has taught math and technology.
