Session Description: Attendees will be taken through the Phase 1 free professional learning workshop for National Geographic Educator Certification. The interactive program seeks to inspire educators to teach students about the world in innovative and interdisciplinary ways. The experience will provide participants with professional recognition and development; connections and community with like-minded educators; and relationships, resources, and perks with the National Geographic Society.

Attendees will  complete Phase 1 of the Nat Geo Educator Certification Program, a free professional development program that supports educators to become innovative leaders who teach students about the world, empowering them to succeed and to make it a better place. Certified educators receive special access to National Geographic education resources and join an online community of like-minded peers. Attendees will actively engage with National Geographic’s Learning Framework, which is a set of attitudes, skills, and knowledge areas—observable in developmentally responsive ways—that embody the attributes of an explorer.
