Abby Hurley

Northern Wyoming Community College Computer Science Youth Outreach Coordinator, Abby Hurley, works with the Sheridan County School District #2 Elementary teachers to help them bring coding into their classrooms. The SCSD#2 teacher committee chose to use BootUp as a way to train teachers and students in the coding platforms of Scratch and Scratch Jr.  Each week, Abby facilitates in K-5 classrooms by teaching Boot Up lessons, planning with and training teachers, and developing integrated coding lessons.  Named PBS Digital Innovator of the Year and STEM Educator of the Year for the state of Wyoming, Abby’s passion is bringing technology into the classroom.  With 10 years of classroom teaching experience, she understands the demands put on teachers and how to help them be successful.
